OS Maps expands popular snap-to-path feature to whole of UK

If you use the brilliant OS Maps app to track your walks, record your miles and plan routes you’ll know how handy the snap-to-path feature in National Parks is. Well time to rejoice because the feature (which you soon miss when you plot more local trails) now works across the whole country!

What is snap-to-path?

Snap-to-path is a helpful tool which automatically ‘snaps’ a route you’re plotting to include suggested paths, tracks and roads. It means you don’t have to trace out every detail of your route by drawing hundreds of straight lines; instead, just click two points on the map, and a route between them will be calculated automatically.

The tool, which can easily be switched on and off mid-plot within OS Maps, makes it quicker and easier to plan routes and also provides you with more accurate information on distance and time.
