OS GetOutside Champion David Wilson on #walk1000miles
For me, walking sets a perfect pace for exploring and socialising. I spend a lot of days walking with groups as part of long distance challenges, or on tours of my local area, and it gives me time to explain areas of interest, or provide a suitable build up to something on the horizon that we’re yet to reach.
I’m passionate about my local area (Northumberland) and happily invest my time walking with others. I’m always proud of the fact that I’m yet to have someone walking in a group that I wouldn’t welcome walking with again - I think it must be something about walkers that makes them ‘good folk’!
A walk filled with amazing scenery, a good laugh, and some history and stories thrown in is a day well spent.
