“I did it!” proclaimed a rightly proud Alison Gunderson from Penzance, who last month walked the 62 ½ mile St Cuthbert's Way from Melrose in the Scottish Borders to Holy Island in Northumberland. Emboldened to do the walk solo by the encouragement of the Walk 1000 Miles community, she was joined by fellow 1000-miler Rachel Henderson for an evening’s company, proving there are friends everywhere when you’re part of the challenge. “It’s the longest walk I've ever done and the longest time I've been away on my own, and I loved it all!” she says. We’re so proud of you Alison!
