Durability is really important in an outdoor active trouser. Rohan garments are designed on the basis of the activity they are going to be used for and the environment they will be in. So it is not as simple as saying softer = less durable and harder = durable. In fact, the technologies that we introduce into the fabrics are such that they have stretch, softness and comfort, so important for active people that need the fabric to adapt with them as they move.
Our Stretch Bags are a popular active trouser. They are made from a super-tough technical fibre with elastane with reinforced knee and seat panels for extra durability where it is needed. They are highly wind resistant, high wicking and quick drying but still have the stretch for the trouser to be comfortable and easy to wear.
The Fjell Trousers are designed to be used by mountaineers, hikers and explorers. They are made from a Multiflex fabric which is a four way stretch fabric, giving them a perfect fit, incredibly comfortable to wear and durable. Extra durability is added to the knees, rear panel and hem to create high abrasion resistance that will allow for scrambling over rocky surfaces.
So you see, just because a fabric is soft to the touch it does not mean it is any less durable. The technologies that are combined in today’s fabrics mean that we can offer our customers comfort and durability even in the trousers that are designed for the toughest activities.
