'We made friends through the challenge'

Jo & Ruth

Me and Jo Oliver we both live in North Cumbria. We try to walk together a couple of times each month. We get on very well – she has lent me clothes, we both have a motorhome… and neither of us is very proficient at map reading! Ruth Harland

Lisa & Amanda

In France a few of us doing this challenge decided to meet up. We had a fab walk and I’m now so happy that from this wonderfull day I now have met my best friend Amanda Powell. A friendship I hope will last a lifetime. We are now firm BFF. Lisa Bishop

Victoria & Team Daniel

I’ve met a lovely few! And we started the Yorkshire #walk1000miles page. Now 32 of us are doing a 45k walking challenge in October for charity. We’re all getting together for a BBQ this Sunday. We call ourselves #TeamDaniel and are now such good friends we are more like family. Victoria Walsworth

Jacine & Wilma

I met up with Wilma Clark at Clydebank canal with our "borrowed dogs" and walked 10 miles – we are also meeting up next month again. I just know I shall meet up with more badgers before the end of the year! Jacine Clark

Michelle & Ellen

I’ve made a few lovely friends including Ellen Morrison who I met when I did the 10km Crohns and Colitis walk back in May – we met halfway around when she saw my badge! Michelle McDonald

Natalie & I video chatted while she was in the process of achieving her 100k walk! I wanted to send her best wishes from America! Peggy Skimore Moore

What a joy to find a group of random ladies from around the globe, all of whom I have never met, but with whom I can have such a giggle chatting away on the #walk1000miles FB page
